The Infrastructure Gap Behind Rural Commodity Trade

Across West Africa, millions of smallholder farmers produce valuable agricultural commodities every season. At the same time, exporters, processors, manufacturers, and global buyers continue searching for reliable, traceable supply chains they can trust.

But between rural production and institutional demand, the market remains deeply fragmented.

Commodity transactions still operate with limited verification, inconsistent trade records, weak provenance systems, fragmented aggregation networks, and minimal transaction visibility across the supply chain.

This creates major operational and compliance challenges:

  • buyers struggle to secure trusted supply,
  • financiers face elevated trade risk,
  • and farmers often remain disconnected from higher-value institutional markets.

As global traceability and sourcing standards continue to rise - including regulations such as the EU EUDR - the absence of coordinated rural trade infrastructure is becoming a major bottleneck across agricultural supply chains.

JNI AGRI operates as an anchor aggregation and trade coordination company leveraging Miziba infrastructure to bridge this gap.

Powered by Miziba's transaction and traceability infrastructure, JNI AGRI helps coordinate verified sourcing, provenance tracking, trade visibility, and institution-ready commodity flows across fragmented rural markets.

Our Approach

Getting commodities from farm to institutional market takes more than logistics. It takes infrastructure, trust, and accountability at every step. Here's how we do it.

  • 1

    Farmer Sourcing

We work directly with smallholder farmers and local aggregators across West Africa. Every supplier in our network is registered, verified, and supported with consistent market access.

  • 2

    Field Verification

Before anything moves, our field teams verify quality at the source. Moisture levels, grade, quantity - all confirmed on the ground, not assumed.

  • 3

    Aggregation & Grading

Verified produce is consolidated at our processing facilities, graded to international standards, and prepared for institutional delivery. What leaves our centres is what buyers ordered.

  • 4

    Institutional Delivery

From our facilities to offtakers, exporters, and processors - we handle the logistics, documentation, and compliance so buyers receive what they need, when they need it.
